What You Will Do
We are excited to be opening our new distribution facility in Merrillville, IN using state of the art technology while minimizing our carbon footprint. Our 400,000 square foot facility will serve as one of our global shipping hubs responsible for meeting the demand of our customers internationally.
The Sr. Supply Chain Planner directly supports internal customers on various supply chain issues. Collaborating across global teams—such as Global Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service—this role drives inventory optimization and enhances scheduling efficiencies to meet customer expectations and support supply chain improvements. The planner conducts data analysis for demand and supply planning projects, identifies opportunities for improvement through report analysis, and collaborates with peers to implement solutions. Proficient in Oracle, Excel, Demantra, and other web applications, the planner optimizes system settings to meet KPIs and shares best practices with colleagues. Key responsibilities include:
- Improve KPMs
- Enhance service levels and reduce costs by coordinating supply chain functions.
- Set aligned with corporate KPMs, identifying improvement opportunities with peers.
- Drive changes in planning systems for better inventory optimization and efficiency.
- Execute to a Schedule and Coordinate Supply
- Ensure successful execution through effective planning and proactive communication.
- Optimize supply chain efficiency by reviewing supply decisions and enhancing delivery systems.
- Manage key parameters to optimize inventory levels.
- Demand Review for Optimal Supply
- Conduct demand analysis to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Collaborate with Demand Planners to provide essential insights, periodically reviewing historical demand to adjust forecasts and improve demand planning.
- Internal Communication
- Engage with internal customers and global peers, partnering closely with the Customer Experience organization to manage ship date commitments.
- Foster collaboration across the organization by initiating process improvements.
What You Will Bring
- Required Degree: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain; operations management; business or related field.
- Certificate: APICS certified (American Production Inventory Certification Society) a plus.
- 3-6 years’ experience in inventory management or relevant experience in supply chain function.
- Experience in finished good and non-finished good scheduling/planning processes and procedures.
- ERP supply planning software experience preferred (e.g., Oracle, SAP; JDA Demand; JDA Fulfillment; E3 and/or AWR).
- Multi-site inventory management experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in use of Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Access is a plus.
- Experience with forecasting systems.
