Are you ready to drive meaningful change across Smithfield Foods’ supply chain? As a Supply Chain Optimization Analyst, you will help identify and implement process improvements that reduce operating costs and enhance efficiency across our logistics, sourcing, planning, and customer success functions. This corporate-level role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally and influence strategic initiatives that shape how we deliver value across our network.
You will collaborate with teams across transportation, distribution, IT, and business systems to uncover opportunities, evaluate new technologies, and lead projects that make a measurable impact. From economic analysis to project tracking and stakeholder engagement, your work will help streamline operations and support a culture of continuous improvement. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Transportation, Distribution, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Planning, and Customer Success to identify improvement opportunities.
Work with IT to evaluate and implement new technologies and process enhancements.
Support special projects and duties as assigned by leadership.
Process Improvement & Cost Savings
Identify and facilitate process improvements aligned with key business goals.
Perform and evaluate economic analyses to support project recommendations.
Support initiatives that drive cost savings and operational efficiency across the supply chain.
Project Management & Execution
Oversee project performance, ensuring timely completion and achievement of goals.
Lead or support training initiatives related to continuous improvement.
Track and audit project outcomes to ensure sustained impact and alignment with strategic objectives.
WHAT WE’RE SEEKING:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced level knowledge of Excel.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
Ability to adjust communication style based upon varying levels of audiences you will encounter.
Strong interpersonal and technical skills.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may act as a lead by providing training and guidance to supply chain team members.
