An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join the Trent 1000 & 7000 Commercial Aviation Value Stream team as Supply Chain Operations Manager.
The Trent 1000 powers the Boeing 787. With nearly 400 aircraft in service and over £1bn invested in our Trent durability programmes, we have a clearly defined product roadmap to drive a step change in Trent 1000 Time-On-Wing supported by major investment and growth in Trent 1000 MRO capacity to meet our fleet needs.
The Trent 7000 powers the Airbus A330-NEO. With nearly 180 aircraft in service and expected to grow to a fleet size of 750 aircraft, this product will be hugely important for Civil Aerospace as the fleet size continues to grow and sales of new aircraft continue to grow.
The Supply Chain Operations Manager is a critical role within the Engine Value Stream working as part of the Fleet Management team prioritising parts to engines within the engine overhaul shops in line with customer requirements. Working as part of an integrated team of engine planners optimising fleet health, spare parts planners and the overhaul bases to deliver the MRO operational plan and therefore the profit as engines exit the shop.
Responsibilities:
In this role you be working with the Procurement/Manufacturing Operations and Aftermarket Operations teams, identifying, prioritising, mitigating and resolving delivery issues impacting MRO engine clearance across our overhaul base network, as well as:
- Presenting parts delivery status to the Engine Value Stream and Aftermarket Operations, ensuring robust & credible information is provided to support the overhaul base requirements.
- Ensuring all supply chain risks that have potential to impact delivery are identified, prioritised, mitigated and escalated, where appropriate, within the wider organisation.
- Clearing engines for parts in line with their engine kit date requirements, balancing allocations between the OE & Aftermarket and across the 1000/7000 overhaul base network.
- Management of the Engine Clearance team Customer Delivery Controllers.
- Providing functional expertise and support for the P&C Teams.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification (eg. APICS).
- Proven leadership qualities through ability to influence outside area of direct control.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver under challenging circumstances.
- Broad understanding of different roles / functions / processes (e.g. Manufacturing, Procurement, Aftermarket Operations).
- Implemented improvement activity, participated in dealing with change (e.g. process, organisation).
- Experience of production planning and control processes.
- Knowledge of and working experience with MRP systems.
- MS Office or equivalent working skills essential.
- Understanding of OE Engine Build Sequencing and Services Engine Repair and Overhaul desirable.
