While reporting to the Industrial Supply Chain-Americas Director, you will be responsible for the plant level supply chain operations in GPP NA, spanning fiber, paper, cores, Posts, Cones, partitions and adhesives. This person will work with leadership teams and plants across the US and Canada and collaborate with Corporate Logistics.
Because the focus is supply chain operations, this person will be working with technologies associated with material movement and information flow. This will include shipping equipment, ERP software, scanning technologies (bar code, RFID, other)
This person will be expected to collaborate with external suppliers and external customers and also across the integrated supply chain to drive productivity and improved working capital results.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Evaluate plant and regional supply chain performance and operating practices to ensure alignment with the business strategies/objectives and plans.
- Lead execution of leveraged transactional supply chain processes including inventory control and accuracy, warehousing, shipping, receiving, distribution and transactional processes.
- Integrated coordination and leadership: Collaborate with internal, Sonoco Supply Chain Partners to develop supply chain processes to achieve optimum performance of cost service and cash. Key focus should be across the integrated GPP NA supply chain and also with external suppliers and customers..
- Ensure utilization of leveraged transactional processes and information systems in execution of the supply chain transactions. Transactional processes must be standard to ensure consistent results and minimal cost, transparent to assure issues and delays are recognized immediately, and free from manual intervention to minimize the cost and delays associated with “hand-offs”.
- Ensure implementation and execution of common and integrated supply chain work processes. Develop and implement strategies and tactics to enhance supply chain effectiveness and visibility through integrated processes and utilization of leveraged technology including supply chain linkage with customers and suppliers. Utilize available Lean Six Sigma and SPS resources, select and coordinate project activities in pursuit of supply chain improvements.
- Facilitate and lead processes for the resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for finished product, ingredients and packaging materials. (Sales and Operations Execution - S&OE)
- Support response to supply chain related customer service complaints and correct identified process failures.
- Manage inventory levels against integrated business goals recognizing the impact of inventory levels on other key business metrics. Responsible for the accuracy of inventory data.
- Own the integrity of data in applicable systems as they relate to the divisional supply chain.
- Measure actual integrated supply performance against internal and external standards, and provide feedback and support to achieve the performance levels needed to meet marketplace requirements
- Determine and implement appropriate warehouse and logistics practices in support of supply chain objectives.
- Sponsors or Leads pilot projects supporting corporate supply chain strategy.
This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in beautiful Hartsville, SC and close to exciting destinations (Myrtle Beach, SC Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC).

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $151,040 to $169,920, plus annual target bonus of 14.5% of base salary.
