Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently looking for a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA. This person will have the opportunity to work on multiple Boeing and heritage McDonnell Douglas Commercial Airplane models by providing support for spare parts procurement. The individual will review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to build technical data packages for use by suppliers in the building of spare parts. In this role, you will support our suppliers and supplier management teams with technical support and expertise in the manufacturing of spares to support our commercial airline customers. This includes, but is not limited to, performing producibility assessments, analyzing technical data and configuration requirements, and working with Liaison, Tooling, and Design engineers to solve technical problems. A successful candidate will have the ability to communicate across multiple functions and prefers working in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be well organized, adaptable and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Seal Beach, CA facility.
Position Responsibilities:
- Utilize SAP, REDARS, Bridge, PDM, and other engineering tools and systems to create Quote Backup Sheets (QBS) for Boeing 7-series and McDonnell Douglas aircraft products for all commodity and part types including sheet metal, machined parts, non-metallic, wiring, tubing, etc.
- Review and interpret engineering documents and blueprints to develop assembly outlines and Bill of Materials (BOM) for a variety of airplane components and assemblies
- Interpret Industry/Company Standards & Processes
- Interface with Design Engineering teams for resolution of design issues and drawing updates for older out of production models
- Coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure requirements are met
- Learn new processes and work under minimal direction
- Articulate technical details with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Determine manufacturing processes required to fabricate parts (metallic and non-metallic)
- Resolve supplier issues with part producibility, drawing interpretation, and obsolete engineering requirements
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 1+ years of experience working in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience supporting or working with manufacturing or engineering teammates or in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
- Experience with CATIA, REDARS, and SAP
- Experience working with an external supplier or customer
- Experience modeling solid objects in a computer-aided design tool such as CATIA
- Manufacturing Engineering experience in commercial aircraft environment
- Experience with Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft engineering product structure
- Project management knowledge & strong communication skills
