Head of Supply Chain, Products - Energy Storage
Essential Duties:
The Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Redwood’s entire product supply chain, including global supply management, supplier industrialization engineering, supplier quality engineering, and material planning. This role sits at the interface between the product engineering team and the industries that supply core technologies.
They will be responsible for building a supply chain for a new high-volume product line from scratch, developing close partnerships with key suppliers, and delivering quality parts on an expedited timeline. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities will include:
- Partner closely with engineering to understand and project supplier needs
- Develop a nuanced understanding of the power electronics, wire harnessing, and mechanical landscape to identify the best suppliers.
- Build a robust purchasing process from quotation, to supplier qualification, to sustaining relationship development.
- Understand the trade offs between cost, volume, quality, and speed to satisfy Redwood Material’s changing dynamics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials and components.
- Oversee inventory management, demand planning, and logistics to ensure product availability and minimize lead times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.
- Build, lead, and structure a high-performing supply chain team for products.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
- Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders
- Assess and mitigate risks to the business
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant procurement background
- Experience in supplier management and operations
- Hands on experience in developing power electronics supply chains in Asia and North America
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MS in Supply Chain, or MBA
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally/domestically
- Experience in managing teams of 5+.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Occasional work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Occasional travel requirements.
In accordance with California pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skills.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
