SKOn, a proud member of SK Group, the second largest conglomerate, is one of the fastest-growing battery manufacturers globally. With ambitious plans to reach over 180GWh manufacturing capacity in the US, SKOn is at the forefront of innovation in the energy storage sector. In response to the increasing domestic demand, SKOn is set to manufacture state-of-the-art 5.3MWh DC Blocks, fullly compliant with the latest US domestic content requirements and eligible for full ITC benefits. While others focus on the cells, you will own the critical infrastructure that makes the battery functional: the Power Conversion System (PCS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Full System Integration. This role is a blend of high-level category strategy and hands-on contract negotiation in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global supply chain strategy for PCS (Inverters) including MVT Skids and EMS/BMS software and hardware.
- Identify, vet, and onboard Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers for system integration that is capable of providing full AC System.
- Stay ahead of market trends, including semiconductor shortages and trade compliance (e.g., Section 301 tariffs, AD/CVD), to mitigate lead-time risks.
Procurement & Contract Negotiation
- Lead end-to-end RFP/RFQ processes for large-scale BESS deployments.
- Negotiate Master Supply Agreements (MSAs) focusing on total cost of ownership, liquidated damages (LDs), warranty terms, and performance guarantees under supervision of contract management team.
- Manage high-value CapEx budgets, ensuring procurement aligns with project COD (Commercial Operation Date) schedules.
Integration & Stakeholder Collaboration
-Act as the bridge between Engineering and Project Management to ensure technical specifications for EMS and PCS are commercially viable.
- Manage the "Make vs. Buy" analysis for system integration services.
- Oversee supplier performance through rigorous Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and KPIs focused on quality and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years in supply chain or procurement, with at least 3 years specifically in Renewables, Grid-Scale Storage, or Power Electronics.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the PCS/Inverter market and the landscape of EMS/SCADA providers, and system integrators.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business, MBA or CPSM/CSCP certification is a plus.
Skills: Expert-level negotiation skills and experience with complex international logistics. Ability to read "between the lines" of technical data sheets to identify commercial risks.
