What will this role achieve?
As the Capex Lead for Supply Chain Finance, you will be fully accountable for our Efficiency, Infrastructure, Compliance and HSE Business Cases as well as having input to our Growth projects. All reporting, forecasting and budgeting responsibilities for Capex will be led by this role; including submissions for the Quarterly Capital Board to Group Supply Chain Finance.
Alongside Capex, this role will lead key Financial Control workstreams and be responsible for eliminating financial losses within the Supply Chain. To achieve this, a journey of standardisation and culture of continuous improvement will be necessary. Priorities will change but focus areas might include our recording and sale of waste, inventory valuations and labour reconciliations.
As a guardian of Financial Control in the function, this role will also be responsible for Internal & External Audit relationships and workstreams and the leader for UK Transfer Prices. Lastly, ad-hoc work will comprise of ROI investment decisions as well as key analysis and decision support.
The role will report directly into the Senior UK&I Supply Chain FP&A Manager; as well as supporting the Supply Chain Finance Director, Supply Chain Financial Controller and our 5 Regional Finance Managers. You will regularly partner key internal contacts such as Factory Managers, Supply Chain Director & Project Engineering Director and also work with Global & Regional Supply Chain Finance, as well as Internal Audit. Lastly, this role will also act as a point of contact for External Audit on behalf of the Supply Chain Finance Team
The role will require travel to the manufacturing sites and Chiswick Park to both drive financial awareness, support our journey to full standardisation and to oversee audits (internal & external). This exciting role offers phenomenal career development opportunities to build a strong network across the business. Leadership, excellent communication skills and Financial Control experience are required.
This role is pivotal for supporting the Senior UK&I Supply Chain FP&A Manager in driving critical focus across all areas of financial control in our function.
What will be your key deliverables?
People
- Comfortable influencing & challenging internal & external partners to help drive business performance and adhere to financial controls
- Lead key partners through the business goals and commitments to Budget
- Travel to manufacturing sites and Chiswick Park to both drive financial awareness, support our journey to full standardisation and to oversee audits (internal & external).
Financial Control
- Design & drive adherence to Financial Controls in order to eliminate financial losses in the Supply Chain
- Drive culture of “continuous improvement” across our function and support standardisation journey on financial controls within Supply Chain Finance
- Lead on Internal and External Audit: Co-ordination of Audits, Tracking Audit actions before/during/after, partnering Factory Managers on Financial Control to support full standardisation, Sharing of Best Practice, Audit objectives met on time and in full
Capex
- Responsible for Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting our Capex Spend in UK Region
- Business Partner Supply Chain Director and Project Engineering Director on Strategic Projects through inception, implementation and tracking of performance
- Lead Business Cases on Efficiency, Infrastructure, Compliance and HSE. Support and guide Growth Business Cases designed by Commercial Finance team
- Issue Weekly Updates of Capex Spend
- Ownership of Capex LE for quarterly Capital Board with alignment of senior stakeholders beforehand
Audit (Internal & External)
- Coordinate internal audit process on behalf of supply chain (including visits to site)
- Own consolidated tracking of all live audit actions (before/during/after audit takes place)
- Regular update meetings with Factory Managers
- Regular progress meetings with the Yildiz Internal Audit Team
- Create value in Function by implementing change and sharing best practice
Global Transfer Prices
- Responsibility for design and issuance of Transfer Prices from UK&I Region to other pladis Regions
- Responsible for presentation to and alignment on Transfer Prices with UK CFO, Supply Chain Finance Director & Senior Supply Chain Finance Manager
- Responsible for loading all Transfer Prices to SAP system on annual & quarterly basis
- When required, responsible for education on prime cost movements quarter to quarter / year to year to our global regional partners
What do you need for this role?
Essential
- Qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA or equivalent experience
- Proven FMCG, Financial Control & Costing experience
- Able to demonstrate a proven communication and teamwork ability, with the gravitas to build solid, successful working relationships cross functionally
- The desire to challenge the status quo and influence senior leaders
- Capex, Standard Costing, Variance analysis and Overhead (Cost Centre Management) experience
- Track record of providing robust and insightful financial analysis, including planning and forecasting
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power point
Desirable
- Knowledge of SAP processes or other relevant systems and ability to get up to speed quickly on relevant systems
