The Role

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Governance & Data Insights the Supply Chain Data Insights Manger is responsible for implementing data quality in dynamic reporting, metric management and establishing a standard cadence for report distribution. This role is responsible for the Supply Chain data and ensures that reporting, analytics, and operations are based on consistent and trustworthy information. This role serves as the liaison between data consumers (e.g., performance reporting, sourcing, procurement, finance) and the Data Analytics team. This role will champion enterprise data standards while supporting the agility and responsiveness needed for operational success.
Essential Functions

  • Implements data governance and quality standards across all Supply Chain data domains (e.g., supplier, material, contract, spend).
  • Serves as the primary steward of Supply Chain data and metadata, overseeing its structure, accuracy, lineage, and definitions.
  • Partners with the enterprise data governance team to align Supply Chain data with corporate policies and system architecture.
  • Identifies data quality issues, manages resolution plans, and establishes control processes to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manages data change processes and ensures version control across source systems and reporting platforms.
  • Supports audits and regulatory compliance activities with timely and accurate data documentation.
  • Works cross-functionally with NiSource Data Analytics team, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent use and interpretation of data.
  • Communicates clearly with business stakeholders on supply chain data insights
  • Builds trusted relationships with internal and external partners to support a unified data strategy.
  • Drives continuous improvement in data management processes and tools through automation and best practices.
  • Develop and monitor data quality KPIs and develops scorecards and reporting mechanisms to support transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborates in projects to improve data accessibility, data integrity, and integration across systems (e.g., Ariba, SAP, Coupa, Power BI).
  • Provides thought leadership in the design and rollout of Supply Chain data platforms and governance frameworks.
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage data for operational efficiencies and process innovation.
  • Collaborates with the NiSource Data Analytics team for quantitative, measurable insights from data sources that create robust, reliable supply chain reporting.
  • Required Qualifications For Position
  • Bachelor's Degree • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • High School Diploma
  • Master's Degree Data Governance, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 7-9 years • 7+ years of experience in data management, master data, data governance, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years Leadership experience and leading teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data governance frameworks, master data strategies, and quality assurance tools.
  • Familiarity with supply chain systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) and enterprise reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in data structuring, cleansing, and integration techniques; SQL knowledge preferred.
  • Strong project management and process documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work across technical and business teams.
  • PREFERRED:
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in utilities or other asset-intensive, regulated industries.
  • Understanding of data privacy, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Background in supporting large-scale digital transformation or ERP projects

Salary Range*:

$110,200.00 - $165,300.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
