Foxconn Industrial Internet is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Supply Chain Compliance Intern to join our Supply Chain & Procurement Management (SCPM) team in Houston, TX for a semester-long engagement. This is a part-time, 20-hour-per-week role running 13 weeks (August 31 – November 27, 2026).
This internship will provide hands-on experience in trade compliance, tariff classification, and procurement data management. The intern will play a key role in a high-visibility project: conducting a comprehensive review and update of FII North America's tariff database, including HTS code validation and applied tariff rate updates across all NA accounts. This role offers direct exposure to international trade policy, procurement systems, and supply chain analytics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and update HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) code assignments for all active North America account part numbers, using the USITC HTS database (hts.usitc.gov) for lookup and validation.
Research and apply current tariff rates — including MFN (Most Favored Nation), Section 301, Section 232, and USMCA preference rates — and validate against CBP/USTR published schedules.
Use SAP to extract active part number and account data as the primary data source for the tariff database update.
Conduct a gap analysis to identify missing, outdated, or incorrect HTS code entries and tariff rate records across NA accounts.
Develop a tariff exposure summary report organized by account and commodity category, highlighting high-exposure areas by cost.
Draft a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for ongoing tariff database maintenance to establish a repeatable, documented update process.
Integrate updated tariff data with FII's custom compliance system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
Present findings and recommendations to SCPM and SCM leadership, demonstrating project outcomes and business impact.
REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and pivot tables for database management and analysis.
Ability to navigate and research the USITC HTS Online database (hts.usitc.gov) for HTS code lookup and validation.
Familiarity with USTR Section 301, Section 232, and other tariff reference lists for applied rate lookup.
Basic experience with SAP or other ERP systems for pulling procurement and part number data is a plus.
Microsoft Word proficiency for documentation, SOP writing, and report preparation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder updates and final presentation delivery.
Basic data analysis skills; ability to organize, cross-reference, and validate large datasets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Part-time: 20 hours per week for the duration of one semester (~ weeks).
