POSITION TITLE:  Supply Chain Assistant

CLASSIFICATION:  NON-EXEMPT 

DEPARTMENT:  Tribal Health

SUPERVISOR:  Medical Clinic Manager or Designee  

GRADE: NE8 $16.49 ($34,299.20) - $24.74 ($51,438.40)

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision the Supply Chain Assistant for the Washoe Tribal Health Center (WTHC) is responsible 

for supply ordering, and management of perpetual inventories throughout the medical clinic, Acute Department, Chiropractic Department and Radiology department. The position is responsible for compilation of end of month and yearly supply

inventories. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Orders office supplies for Medical, Wound, Podiatry, Chiropractic, Radiology departments.

· Orders medical supplies for Medical, Wound, Podiatry, Chiropractic, Radiology departments.

· Keeps record of supplies ordered through materials management system including but not limited to supply procurement, processing, distribution and inventory. 

· Manages order reconciliation reports.

· Processes check requests for supplier invoices as received. 

· Maintains logs, filing and source documents. 

· Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.

· Maintains stock in stockroom(s), ensures stockroom is cleaned and maintained. 

· Performs audits inventory in purchasing, receiving and stockroom. 

· Delivers supplies and equipment to the user departments in an efficient and timely manner

· Restocks utilizing proper rotation (first in, first out), organization, identification, documentation, and proper location of stock items. 

· Communicates with leadership and staff as needed. 

· Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.

· Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. 

· Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation. 

· Adheres to WTHC Dress Code. 

· Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED

· One (1) year experience with a materials management system in a healthcare setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

· Knowledge of the functions and structure of the Washoe Tribe.

· Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

· Knowledge of records management and basic accounting procedures.

· Knowledge of general goals and purpose of the Washoe Tribal Health Center.

· Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

· Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in stressful situations.

· Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically MS 365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

· Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to operate a motor vehicle; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. 

The Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California requires a background check of each new hire for employment purposes. Therefore, all conditionally offered positions will be subject to the following: 

· Negative alcohol and drug screen

· Meet requirements of Public Law 101-630

· Obtain or possess a valid driver’s license for either the state of Nevada or California within 30 day

· Must be insurable under the Washoe Tribe’s driving policy

· Preference will be given to qualified Native Americans

Skills Required
