About Modo Energy
The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.
We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.
Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.
This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.
We're hiring a Supply Chain Analyst to build a new research area for Modo Energy. You'll research and report on the supply chains behind battery, solar, and wind systems, with a preference for candidates with battery experience.
Your focus in the first instance will be batteries, with scope to expand into wind and solar as the function grows. You'll track key trends, including oversupply from China and CAPEX projections for these systems over the coming years, and build a clear picture of the companies and routes that make up the global supply chain, particularly those with a presence in China.
The end goal of this role is to help asset owners and financiers understand what potential future costs for these projects might look like and to flag any major issues or delays that emerge across the supply chain.
This is a global role, based in London and reporting to the Director of European Product.
What You'll Be Doing- Research and report on supply chains for battery, solar, and wind systems, building Modo Energy's first body of work in this area.
- Track and analyse key trends such as oversupply from China and capex projections for battery, solar, and wind systems in the coming years.
- Build relationships with and knowledge of supply chain companies operating globally.
- Translate supply chain research into practical cost and delay implications for asset owners and financiers.
- Help define and build out this new research area for Modo Energy, working closely with the Director of European Product.
- Stay on top of emerging battery technologies, such as sodium-ion, and assess what they mean for the supply chain.
- 1+ years of experience in supply chain analytics.
- An engineering-style background.
- A preference for candidates with battery experience, though solar and wind experience will also be considered.
- Comfortable building tools and workflows with AI.
- Familiarity with supply chain companies.
- Interest in or exposure to battery energy storage or wider energy transition themes.
