Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Specialist (Level 4) to join our Supplier Quality Northwest & Supplier Performance in the Puget Sound region on Shift 1. This virtual role will require regular travel (3-4 days per week) to visit suppliers in the Puget Sound area of Washington state.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct onsite audits of Boeing procured material, parts, and assemblies
- Apply knowledge of materials, and special processes to assess supplier capability and capacity to perform and comply with Boeing specifications, engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements
- Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and the implementation of acceptable preventative action
- Provides education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives
- Conduct source inspections and delegate product acceptance responsibility to suppliers
- Assesses capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work
- Develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity
- Recognize/Identify risks, and hold suppliers accountable for the mitigation of those risks
- Create presentations and present to senior management at suppliers and Boeing
- Support external conformities
- Use of a personal vehicle, when required for company business, would be reimbursed at mileage rate per applicable company policy
- Exhibit an extremely high level of Emotional Intelligence
- Protect the Boeing brand in word and deed
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of hands on experience with special processes (heat treatment of metals, welding, brazing, chemical processes/finishes and coatings, composite hardware manufacturing processes, metal bonding processes, non-destructive testing) and/or special process auditing
- Capable of traveling up to 75% of the time within the Northwest region, primarily in the Puget Sound, WA area
- 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in conducting/leading QMS Audits
- Experience with mixed technologies - Aerospace Quality Systems, Chemical Processes, Composites, Heat Treat, Materials Testing Laboratories, Non-destructive Testing, Surface Enhancement, Welding
- Experience with the application of improvement methodologies such as (Lean, Theory of Constraints and/or Six Sigma) to achieve measurable results.
- Proficient in MS Office tool suite and project management software tools
- 5+ years of experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills
- 3+ years of experience with project leadership leading cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as FMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA
- Working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9145

Summary Pay Range: $130,050 - $175,950
