• Issuing & tracking Quality problem to satisfy internal / external customers with the best quality. Control and guide supplier quality control for purchasing parts (components).
On-Going Role (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:)
Supplier APQP:
- Visit new/resourced and/or “high impact” Suppliers to ensure APQP progress/process integrity.
- Serve as a roadblock remover to ensure APQP target dates are successfully me.
- To make supplier understand BorgWarner requirement include BorgWarner ‘s customer requirement.
Supplier PPAP Submissions:
- Review and make disposition on Supplier PPAP submissions.
- Assure PPAP timing remains on time and meets Launch timing objectives.
Supplier Quality Control:
- Control supplier quality by setting monthly/quarterly audit plan for worst supplier.
- Design containment action with cross functional team when find material issue in production line.
- Issue CPM to supplier with follow up 8D follow timing.
- Support supplier change (lead or no lead).
Others: depend on Quality manager/ Plant manager.
EDUCATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year College or University is required
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry
- Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8-D Methodology) and manufacturing processes required
- Knowledge of QS-9000 requirements including APQP and PPAP required
- Knowledge of SPC required
COMMUNICATION/COMPUTER SKILL
- Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables.
- Proficient at developing trip reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from Management and/or Customers.
