Job Description
You provide a high level of consulting and technical support for designated products, businesses, projects in the area of Quality Engineering. You will promote a culture of world-class service and products to achieve customer satisfaction through quality-focused engagement. You will ensure training and compliance with standards, quality systems, and product specifications for both internal and external supply bases. This includes tasks such as Advanced Quality Planning, Qualification Sharing, Manufacturing Strategies, Supplier Evaluation, and Corrective and Preventive Actions.
We ask that you have some management and guidance in daily work but may guide communication between SQE and other departments in supporting quality, supply, and manufacturing processes. You will not have direct reports. Additionally, we ask that you have the ability to travel.
Your Responsibilities:Functional:
- Apply Quality Engineering knowledge to provide technical assessment and problem-solving using advanced quality planning tools such as PFMEAs, PPAP, R&R, and Process Capability Studies.
- Assess and conduct audits of internal and external supplier quality systems to develop and implement quality plans and methods to ensure suppliers can meet RA expectations.
- Monitor quality performance for designated internal and external suppliers and items. Initiate corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
- Identify and support performance and process improvements within the Supplier Quality team’s business processes. Lead continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in the maintenance and improvement of quality systems following ISO 9001:2000 and Environmental Standards 14000.
- Use Quality Information Systems to obtain main data on production performance, defects, audits, and customer information.
- Support Deviation Authorizations, Waivers, CAP, ECN, and PCN to achieve our goals.
- Analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for quality improvement.
- Initiate and oversee Stop Production/Hold Shipment processes to ensure order compliance and completeness.
- Provide quality-related training for suppliers and RA employees.
- Provide expert knowledge to Manufacturing, Marketing, and Development to ensure control processes and product specifications exceed requirements and that quality issues are tracked and resolved.
- May manage product transfers to other RA locations or manufacturers.
- Provide quality expertise to the business to support best quality practices, compliance with procedures and requirements, Continuous Improvement Processes, Our Goals, CSMIP, and Lean projects.
- Develop or help develop Quality Engineering procedures.
Interpersonal:
- Conduct training on Quality Engineering and Inspection methods, tools, and concepts.
- Collaborate with other Engineering teams and customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
- Be a team member responsible for identifying and completing tasks.
Business:
- Understand and support strategic and departmental annual goals.
- Support Best Practice programs, quality procedures across sites (e.g., Richland Center, Mequon, Canada, Aarau, UK, & Global Businesses).
- Higher technical education
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in quality and project management (PMI / PMP certificate ...)
- Proficiency in the use of computer systems. Experience of MS excel (can perform complex functions) is required.
- Practical knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning tools.
- Knowledge of quality processes: 8D Report, 5Why analysis.
- Technical knowledge in the field of production processes of electronic or electromechanical products.
- Good reading and interpreting technical drawings, knowledge of GD&T.
- Understanding of the ISO 9001 standard. Being an external / internal auditor will be an advantage.
- Understand the basics of quality management in the software area, software security.
- Team spirit, risk-based prioritization of tasks, decision-making are important.
- Active category B driving license and willingness to travel (25%).
- Knowledge of spoken and written English.
- LSS certificate (Green/ Black Belt)
