Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

About the Role: 

Brooks is a leading provider of automation solutions with over 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, offering precision robotics, integrated automation systems, and contamination control solutions that empower chip manufacturers worldwide.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our high-performing team in Johor, Malaysia at our Greenfield manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in supplier quality management, driving supplier performance improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of quality for materials and components used in our semiconductor automation solutions. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Establish and maintain a qualified and preferred supply base.

  • Work -content requires extensive travel throughout the country frequent driving to supplier facilities for source inspections, surveys and other required activities.

  • Work with purchasing to qualify suppliers for new product development initiatives.

  • Work with suppliers to ensure components for new product meet drawings and specifications, ready to be assembled on the production line.

  • Problem solves issues that arise during new product development process.

  • Create and implement receiving inspection process for all new components.

  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization ensure high quality suppliers in supply chain network.

  • Establish short term and long-term supplier quality goals.

  • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure product arrives according to schedule.

  • Research, develop and revise Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Engineering Standards and Work Instructions that govern the operations of the Quality Engineering Department and Quality-related activities of the Corporate Office, manufacturing facilities and distribution center. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Degree in Engineering with a minimum 5-7 years of related experience in Semiconductor or Hi-Tech manufacturing environment. 

  • Proven skills in the application of the Microsoft standard software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Able to work under pressure and tight timelines and still deliver good results.

  • Valid car driving license and flexibility to travel (up to 30%), sometimes at short notice.

  • Experience with NPI projects and supplier quality management in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
