The Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for supporting our Supplier Quality Engineers in the U.S. and Europe by working closely with suppliers in Southeast Asia to ensure product quality and improve supplier performance.

This position is part of the Danaher Asia Strategic Sourcing team and will be located in Penang Malaysia.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Support U.S. and European-based factory SQEs in managing quality control processes for mechanical suppliers (machining, sheet metal) in Southeast Asia.
• Assist suppliers in understanding and meeting our quality standards and requirements.
• Review supplier quality documentation, such as inspection results and quality reports, ensuring they meet the expectations of the U.S. and/or European factories.

The essential requirements of the job include:  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in quality control and management, focusing on machining and sheet metal processing.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, quality standards, and mechanical components.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to handle technical documentation, including inspection results and quality reports.
• Flexibility to attend meetings outside of regular business hours due to time zone differences.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel up to 90% of the time to various supplier locations and business traveling mostly in Southeast Asia.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

• Experience working with suppliers in Southeast Asia.
• Local language (Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Bengali, Hindi, etc.) communication capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supplier quality issues.
