Inside the Role
Position is responsible for leading a group of commercial vehicle suppliers, in providing quality powertrain components in sufficient capacity. This position is within the Supplier Management and Purchasing department and will report to the responsible Supplier Management Quality Supervisor.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
- Work with the supplier to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting customer existing or new requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events.
- Facilitate and help lead the supplier in the advanced product quality planning of new series part production following the international APQP process.
- Maintain and update supplier audit system and schedule.
- Documents activities related to investigation, disposition, and resolution to quality complaints.
- Conduct supplier audits to confirm product conformity, or drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including DPPM, Quality Complaints, and capacity to support OTS (On Time Ship) compliance.
- Lead or support effort to establish specific short / long-term supplier quality goals.
- Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
- Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Reviews and approves supplier PPAP’s; Review and audit the deliverables including: Control Plans, Capability plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage design, Gage R&R, PFEMA, DFMEA; and supports or leads project management efforts regarding supplier changes.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 1 year of related experience OR Associates degree with 5 years of related experience
- Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Statistical process control experience
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Problem solving experience
- Strong understanding of PPAP review and approval process
- Auditing experience (VDA, IATF, ISO 9001)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of a foreign language (German / Spanish)
