We're looking for an experienced relationship-focused professional to join our team as a Supplier Management Capability Manager, helping to drive best practice supplier management and capability uplift across Westpac New Zealand.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Reporting to the Supplier Management Central Lead, you'll play a key role in helping our business embed consistent, practical and outcome-focused supplier management practices. You'll work closely with business leaders, relationship managers, procurement teams and technology stakeholders to develop capability, provide guidance and support the ongoing evolution of our supplier management framework.

This is not a traditional procurement or sourcing role. we're looking for someone who excels at building relationships, influencing stakeholders and translating frameworks, policies and standards into practical tools, guidance and ways of working.

You will:

  • Support adoption of supplier management frameworks and best practice across the organisation.

  • Work alongside our Technology Relationship mangers to enhance collaboration and supplier outcomes.

  • Build trusted relationships across business, procurement and specialist teams.

  • Develop and deliver supplier management guidance, learning materials and capability uplift initiatives.

  • Contribute to change initiatives, continuous improvement activity and governance uplift programmes.

  • Champion supplier management best practice across Westpac.

While your background may be in Supplier Management, Vendor Management, Procurement, Commercial Management or Customer Relationship Management, what matters most is your ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across a complex organisational environment.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Proven experience managing and influencing stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience developing or embedding frameworks, training, guidance or capability programmes.

  • Strong facilitation, communication and engagement skills.

  • Experience supporting organisational change, improvement or transformation initiatives.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to turn complexity into practical solutions.

  • Confidence engaging with technology teams and understanding technology-related environments.

Experience within Financial Services or another regulated industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
