Supplier Financial Risk Analyst – Supply Chain
As supply chains become increasingly complex, corresponding threats expand exponentially – deepening the need for a comprehensive strategy to increase transparency and reduce risk. One of the key ingredients in improving supply chain resilience and flexibility is managing the risk associated with a complex, global and interconnected supply base.
Your Role
In this role, you will:
- Monitor and track supplier financial performance, including suppliers’ financial health, risk of financial failure, suppliers’ dependency on Aptiv’s business, and supplier financial security – for both new and existing suppliers.
- Lead proactive, ongoing and reactive risk evaluation of suppliers through financial statement analysis and other supplier-relevant data, collaborating with stakeholders in other functions including Supply Chain, Production Control and Logistics, Program Management, Legal, IT, Finance, and Treasury.
- Prepare reports, briefings and presentations to drive the necessary mitigation actions to protect Aptiv’s and our customers’ interests, including coordinating with stakeholders in other functions.
- Based on thorough financial analysis of suppliers, provide recommendations on sourcing award as well as expertise and actionable insights in the identification of supplier financial risks both present and future.
- Actively participate and lead process improvement in managing supply chain risk as necessary, including non-financial risk.
Your Background
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications (must have)
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or business
- 3+ years’ experience analyzing financial statements, ideally in a manufacturing context
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong analytical skills – ability to develop creative solutions for supplier weaknesses
- Computer-literate (MS Office and MS Teams suites)
- Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and drive actions independently
Desired characteristics (ideal, but not a must)
- Financial or 3rd party risk management experience, ideally with restructuring
- Fluent Spanish or Portuguese – analyzing suppliers in Latin America
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Analytics literacy – using PowerBI to create data visualizations
- Experience working with 3rd party financial intelligence providers
