Supervises unit employees and ensures compliance with all safety regulation and quality procedures. Directs employees as necessary to complete daily tasks within the unit. Position must be able to multi-task and be self-sufficient. When required, the supervisor participates in production and packaging of chemicals. Other duties may be assigned.
Job Description:

- Responsible for keeping all direct reports and unit equipment in compliance with regulations, safety protocol and quality procedures.
- Participate in monthly/quarterly inventory and both internal and external audits.
- Participate in production planning, production meetings, and submission of production reports to Operations coordinator.
- Completes appropriate batching, quality, security, and shipping paperwork for associated loads and materials.
- Supervises a crew of three or more. Schedules employee coverage within unit and schedules overtime within the unit with the proper approval from management. Communicates on regular basis with Operations Coordinator on scheduling need of unit.
- Determines and communicates daily assignments to team by analyzing employee availability, strengths, and company goals or tasks.
- Ensures effective written and oral communication between all team members within the unit.
- Ensures all employees within unit are properly cross trained on all work functions within the unit.
- Participates in daily communication with the Operations Coordinator to ensure unit is ran smoothly and safely.
- Promote safe work habits throughout the work environment by observing working processes, training employees in safety, and enforcing regulations.
- Reports all safety and compliance issues/incidents to management immediately.
- Required to review and comply with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations. Ensures all area of the unit are compliant.
- Observes and assist with chemical reactions; monitors gauges, signals, and recorders; and receives notification from control laboratory, supervisor, or other workers to make specified operating adjustments.
- Receives raw materials for production process and assists with quality confirmation process and maintaining inventory. This includes but not limited to barge, railcar, tank truck, tote/drum quantities.
- Oversees the loading and unloading of trucks within the unit. When needed, loads finished products for transport to customers. This includes but not limited to barge, railcar, tank truck, tote/drum quantities.
- Pulls retain samples of products for laboratory analysis.
- Maintains log of gauge readings, process round sheets, and shift production.
- May perform chemical tests on product to ensure conformance with specifications, using standard test equipment, materials, and procedures.
- Attends and actively participates in all safety and quality meetings as required.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner and follow all rules and regulations.
- Completes all training as required in the Regulatory/Compliance Training Program.
- Ensures all equipment within the unit such as forklifts, drum handling equipment, pumps, hoses, etc. are properly cared for and maintained.

Education and Experience:
- GED/HS Diploma required
- 4+ years Supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Must possess Supervisory experience and be comfortable with providing guidance and direction to employees.
- Dedication to their team, and a willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Capable of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members and other departments within the organization.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines both as an individual and as a Supervisor. Possess the ability to effectively prioritize situations and make timely decisions based on the information received.
- Comprehension of employee relationship building and exhibit excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to work within organizational reporting structures.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to see for purposes of reading printed matter and operating a forklift and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Ability to bend and twist, sit, stoop. Kneel, push, pull and crawl
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (i.e. respirators, chemical suits, protective boots, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.).
- Ability to reach in all directions at work at heights.
- Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
- Ability to work in outside elements for extended periods of time.
- Working knowledge or OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulation and reporting.
- Working knowledge of AS400 or similar ERP system.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
