What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Empty Tote Management:
    • Tracking and Monitoring: Oversee the receipt, storage, and tracking of empty totes, ensuring they are readily available for use in the production process. Monitor the status and location of each tote in the warehouse. 
    • Storage Optimization: Ensure proper storage and organization of empty totes in the warehouse to maximize space and improve accessibility. 
    • Movement and Distribution: Coordinate the movement of empty totes to production areas or return them from production lines to be refilled or reused. 
    • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory of empty totes, ensuring that there is an adequate supply available for production needs and minimizing shortages or overstocking. 
    • Tote Condition: Ensure that totes are inspected for damage and that any damaged totes are repaired or replaced in a timely manner to avoid disruption in the supply chain. 
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Scheduling and Delivery: Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to ensure empty totes are delivered to the right locations at the right time, ensuring no interruption to the production process. 
    • Waste Minimization: Identify opportunities to improve tote usage, reduce waste, and minimize empty tote accumulation in non-productive areas. 
    • Process Flow Improvement: Work with other departments to streamline the flow of empty totes between the warehouse and production lines, minimizing bottlenecks and delays. 
  • Team Leadership and Supervision:
    • Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of warehouse associates responsible for handling, moving, and organizing empty totes. Provide training, set performance goals, and ensure the team is working efficiently. 
    • Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the performance of team members and ensure that warehouse activities are completed on time and in compliance with company standards. 
    • Safety and Compliance: Ensure the team follows safety protocols and warehouse best practices, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment. 
    • Problem Solving: Address issues such as missing or damaged totes, delays in delivery, or any other logistics problems that might arise within the tote management process. 
  • Collaboration with Other Departments:
    • Cross-Department Communication: Coordinate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth tote management and alignment with production schedules and material needs. 
    • Tote Replenishment: Work with supply chain teams to replenish the number of empty totes needed for production, ensuring the right quantity is available without overstocking. 
    • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to warehouse management or higher-level logistics supervisors about tote inventory, movement, and any related issues. 
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement in the management of empty totes, including storage practices, handling methods, and logistics. 
    • Lean Manufacturing Principles: Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve the efficiency of tote management processes, and contribute to the overall productivity of the warehouse. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Experience:
    • Warehouse Experience: At least 5-10 years of proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sector. 
    • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role, with a focus on managing warehouse or logistics operations. 
  • Educational Background:
    • (Highly Preferred) Bachelors Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. 
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as forklift operation, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma can be beneficial. 
  • Skills:
    • Inventory Management: Strong understanding of inventory control techniques and the ability to track and manage the flow of empty totes within the warehouse system. 
    • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. 
    • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and movement of totes. 
    • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and address issues related to tote management, such as shortages, damage, or inefficiency. 
    • ERP and Warehouse Management Systems: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software to track and manage tote movements and inventory. 
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to keep accurate records, inspect totes for damage, and ensure that the right totes are available in the right location. 
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Attention to Detail: Ensure that all aspects of empty tote management are meticulously tracked and handled. 
    • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. 
    • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing production schedules or logistical requirements as needed. 
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Safety:
    • Safety Procedures: Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for warehouse operations to ensure a safe working environment for the team. 
    • Material Handling: Familiarity with material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and best practices for transporting empty totes.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
