The Role

The Supplier Software Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and team management as well as collaboration across the Software Quality Assurance Organization. They will ensure that the team champions software quality improvement of Supplier-Sourced ECUs by ensuring implementation, execution and continuous improvement of supplier management strategies and processes.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Team Management & Development:

    • Directly leading, hiring, training, and managing a team of Supplier Software Quality Assurance Engineers and SMEs.

    • Conducting performance reviews, setting individual goals, and fostering professional growth within their specific team(s).

    • Assigning tasks and managing workloads to ensure timely and effective completion of activities.

    • Drive impactful, transformative work inspired by Ford OS Behaviors.

  • Planning & Execution (Operational):

    • Translating the Software Quality Assurance Manager's strategic quality vision into actionable plans for specific projects or product areas.

    • Aligning with Organizational Defect Prevention and Product Defect Prevention teams to ensure appropriate prioritization, and timely delivery of, systemic fixes to address PRAs.

  • Project-Level Reporting:

    • Providing regular updates on progress, quality metrics, and identified risks to the SW quality managers and relevant project stakeholders (e.g., project managers, development leads).

    • Using data-driven insights to make improvement recommendations and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

You will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.

  • 15+ years of Software Engineering experience, with the following experience, that may be concurrent:

    • 5+ years performing software quality assurance activities, such as process and work product audits.

    • 2+ years of experience working for, or with, Tier 1 suppliers to deliver high quality software and/or sourcing and purchasing supplier ECUs.

    • 2+ years of experience with standards and regulations, such as ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO26262), and Cyber Security (R155/R156) are assets.

  • Collaborative, customer-focused mindset to drive the right outcomes for our customers (internal and external).

  • Ability to effectively manage cross-team capabilities and contribute to your peers’ success.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices, including experience with Jira work management.

  • Clear communication style both laterally to business partners as well as upwards to management.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.     

 

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
