NOV Africa is seeking an experienced Supervisor – Riser Group to lead our Riser operations across South Africa and Angola. The successful candidate will supervise a team of 6–7 permanent employees and 10+ temporary personnel during project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating quotations, allocating resources, monitoring project progress, supporting financial planning and revenue reporting, and maintaining strong customer relationships.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the Riser team, ensuring a safe, productive and high-performing work environment.
  • Supervise day-to-day workshop and field operations across multiple projects.
  • Ensure customer projects are accurately scoped and quoted, with appropriate labour, materials and equipment allocated.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor project costs, productivity and resource utilisation to maximise operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Provide weekly operational and project performance reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with monthly revenue forecasting, financial reporting and annual budget planning.
  • Liaise with customers throughout project execution, providing technical and commercial updates while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, scheduling and mobilisation of personnel for local and international projects.
  • Ensure compliance with NOV policies, quality standards and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to improve processes and mentor team members to develop technical capability.

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore, industrial, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong project planning, budgeting, and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally as required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and project coordination.

Skills Required
