This is an onsite/hybrid role based out of the Doral, Florida office where you will work onsite 3-4 days per week based on Manager approval and business needs.
What Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) contributes to Cardinal Health
Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice.
Revenue Cycle Management manages a team focused on a series of clinical and administrative processes that healthcare providers utilize to capture, bill, and collect patient service revenue. The revenue cycle shadows the entire patient care journey and begins with patient appointment scheduling and ends when the patient’s account balance is zero.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise revenue cycle staff, ensuring efficient daily operations.
Oversee billing, claims submission, payment posting, accounts receivable, and collections activities.
Manage claim denials, appeals, and reimbursement resolution to maximize revenue recovery.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational regulations.
Monitor revenue cycle KPIs, including denial rates, clean claim rates, cash collections, and A/R aging.
Provide training, coaching, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development.
Collaborate with clinical, financial, and administrative teams to improve operational effectiveness.
Implement process improvements that enhance revenue capture and workflow efficiency.
Prepare and present operational and financial performance reports to leadership.
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory initiatives.
Able to work in and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interpret operational and financial metrics and drive corrective action.
Qualifications
2-3 years of experience in related field, preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
Prior medical billing experience preferred.
Proven leadership experience with staff supervision, coaching, and performance management preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding concepts, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
Experience with accounts receivable management, denials, appeals, and collections.
Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
Microsoft Excel, reporting, and data analysis skills.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and compliance requirements.
Experience implementing revenue optimization and process improvement initiatives.
