Quality Supervisor
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for defining, directing, prioritizing and overseeing the completion of the work assigned to hourly departmental personnel.
Performance Expectations
Conduct performance appraisals on time in a timely manner.
Work closely with Cell Supervisors and Quality Engineers to ensure that current quality levels are met or exceeded.
Ensure that customer requirements as defined by the control plan are satisfied e.g. Millipore testing, dock audits, final inspection, etc.
Ensure that all disciplinary actions of hourly departmental personnel are handled efficiently and professionally.
Ensure that lab requirements as defined by the QS quality system are accurately maintained.
Look for opportunities where SPC could be implemented.
Ensure that all process presently using SPC monitoring is being fulfilled as outlined in the control plan.
Ensure that all calibration systems are monitored, and calibrations are completed on or before due dates.
Maintain knowledge of AIAG core tools and supplemental customer requirements.
Represent the customer in working with the plant.
Assure compliant to 5S standards in area of responsibility.
Participation in continuous improvement process.
Other duties as assigned.
Credentials
Completion of secondary school.
Post-Secondary education in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is preferred.
ASQ Certification and/or certificate in AQ Program an asset.
Desired Characteristics
Minimum five years supervisor of quality staff.
Minimum five years of machine shop experience on transfer lines, CNC millings and lathes is preferred.
Able to read mechanical drawing with full GD&T comprehension.
Read and interpret CMM reports and provide assistance to production for machine adjustment.
Previous experience in automotive manufacturing and quality systems is preferred.
Ability to use measuring instruments (Roundness and length measuring machines, hardness testers).
Demonstrate knowledge of ISO standards, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong effective supervisory skills.
Ability to demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
