Procurement Supervisor is responsible for all supply chain activities at the Essen site, mainly in the form of operational execution to support site sales and customer delivery.
The focus of the role is to ensure that purchasing requirements for both direct and indirect delivery volumes are effectively executed according to the site's requirements.
The role includes leading a team of currently three Procurement Specialists to handle, among other things, the Procure-to-Pay activities for the Essen site. In addition, he works closely with the Sourcing team to ensure that all deliveries are made on time, of the right quality and at competitive prices.
The position reports directly to the Director, Plant Manager in Essen.
Your tasks:
- Effective management of the supply chain at plant level with a strong focus on supporting the operational areas, in close cooperation with the management team in Essen
- Timely completion of all procurement and purchasing activities to support daily site operations, taking into account the balance between quality, delivery and costs
- Continuous updating of the local ERP system with regard to all relevant data and parameters of the supply chain, including item master data, supplier master data and order documents
- Support in the concrete design of proposals for the annual budget and in relation to strategic plans, with a strong focus on total expenditure and savings
- Identification of opportunities to increase contractually covered expenditure and rationalize the supply base and cooperation with the relevant sourcing / category teams to complete corresponding projects
- Development of specific supply / supplier risks in the area of responsibility and their elimination in consultation with the management team
- Control of compliance with all relevant legal requirements for the procurement process and supply chains
- Introduction of the Flowserve management system, in particular Daily Management, in consultation with the Managers
- Promoting process optimization to improve efficiency
- Ensuring timely availability of materials in close cooperation with the Production Planning Team and supporting inventory reduction initiatives
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree with a strong technical focus and / or comparable technical / commercial degree with good business knowledge
- 3+ years of professional experience in international purchasing in a manufacturing company
- Initial management experience, preferably in purchasing
- High level of technical competence (drawings, manufacturing technologies, standards and regulations, etc.)
- Organizational talent with strong project management know-how
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels, with fluent written and oral communication skills in English and German
- Very good knowledge of MS Office software modules and ERP system - SAP R3 preferred
- Willingness to travel internationally occasionally
