Job Description
The purpose of this job is to a) oversee all payroll information for payroll accounting, tax, operations reporting and auditing, and b) ensure all governance for internal and external payroll tax compliance is in place.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required;
- Fundamental Payroll Certification or equivalent experience required
- Minimum ten years’ experience in multi-state and Canadian payroll required
- Minimum three years’ experience in a payroll leadership role required
- Minimum three years’ experience required using payroll and timekeeping system software (e.g., INFOR GHR, S3, Lawson); five years’ experience preferred
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Advanced knowledge in report writing/creating and data extraction (e.g., Crystal Reporting, SQL Statement)
- Advanced knowledge of multi-state, multi-company payroll systems and federal, state, and local tax filing requirements, laws, and regulations
- Basic programming and coding knowledge (e.g., SQL, COBOL)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial principles and practices with non-finance team members
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, and as a part of a team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsibly
