ABOUT THE ROLE
The Packing Supervisor is responsible for the packing operations, ensuring efficient and accurate packing of products. This role involves supervising a team of packers, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining quality control standards. The Packing Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Director and collaborates with other departments to meet production goals and customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Oversee a team of 10-20 people ensuring all tasks and processes are scheduled and completed and on time.
- Support management in the allocation of work to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of packaging during scheduled shifts.
- Effective management of inventory levels for product, supplies and labor.
- Training and coaching team members, providing constant feedback and motivation to keep the productivity levels high.
- Resolve any packing-related issues or complaints from customers or internal stakeholders in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Communicate any stock shortage, quality issues to Operation’s Manager in conjunction with Sales OPs.
- Monitor and analyze packing productivity and efficiency metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO APPLY?
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong grasp of packaging processes and inventory management to ensure targets are met.
- Knowledge of and adherence to health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and packaging equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Ability to work in a cold environment (4-6 Celsius).
- Education: High School Diploma.
Bonus points if you have...
- Experience in greenhouse or agricultural packing, particularly with lettuce or similar produce.
- Experience with process optimization and lean manufacturing principles.
- Advanced skills in ERP systems and packaging machinery.
- Proven track record of training, coaching, and improving team performance.
