About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Supervisor of Operations to join our Brooklyn dynamic team at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. The Supervisor will play a crucial role as a key member of the Brooklyn leadership team, providing direct support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of administrative functions in our Brooklyn site. Collaborating closely with management, medical providers, and patient accounts, the Supervisor will oversee various aspects of patient care administration, staff management, and financial processes.
 

Key Responsibilities:  

As a Supervisor of Operations, your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the site leadership team to oversee Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions, including patient scheduling, staffing, payroll, and department training support.
  • Provide supervision, including monitoring attendance, conducting performance reviews, and offering feedback to staff. Support template management.
  • Support financial aspects of the PCA role, including insurance verification, front-end billing cycle, and income-based discount screening.
  • Oversee related support functions such as supply ordering, payables approval, staff scheduling, accommodation processing, patient concern resolution, and Metrocard program oversight.
  • Regularly communicate with other Supervisors of Operations to resolve operational issues.
  • Participate in work groups or Performance Improvement Teams as needed.
  • Assist in recruitment and hiring processes for Patient Care Associates.
  • Participate in the AOD program and lead various projects as they arise.
  • Work with Callen-Lorde’s management team to strengthen Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, fostering an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture and work environment.

 

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position with evening hours.

Qualifications

Education, Experience

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience managing operations preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working within a healthcare setting
  • Experience with front desk services and customer service
  • Experience with service recovery and de-escalation
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Experience working within the LGBTQ+ community

Desired Characteristics, Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative/organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
