As the Supervisor – New Product Introduction (NPI), you will oversee all activities required to successfully transition new electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical products (including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies) from development into full-scale production. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate resources, and ensure all product launches meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives while aligning with company standards and regulatory requirements. You will be accountable for leading cross-functional teams, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the NPI team, providing direction and support to ensure successful product launches
- Develop and implement strategies for effective new product introductions, aligning with Wesco’s goals and objectives
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure all aspects of new product development are aligned and executed efficiently
- Monitor and report on the progress of NPI projects, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the NPI process
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the NPI process
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment of project goals and timelines
- Manage resource allocation for NPI projects, ensuring optimal use of personnel and materials
- Analyze and evaluate the performance of new products post-launch to provide insights and recommendations for future projects
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the NPI team, encouraging professional development and growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred - Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field or equivalent level of experience and education
- 5 years of experience working with NPI
- 1 year leading or supervising a team a production or warehouse environment
- Demonstrated success managing NPI projects in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a strategic approach to complex challenges
