- Supervise, mentor, and support logistics staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to procedures.
- Forge relationships with carriers and build the existing carrier base.
- Establish rate schedules and maintain and monitor compliance items.
- Negotiate carrier rates to ensure profitability.
- Manage all specialized freight movements (oversize, airfreight, ocean) including coordination of special permits and customs clearances.
- Analyze logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and manage attendance, time-off schedules to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Prepare and deliver performance reviews.
- Post-Secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics.
- Experience in a supervisory role an asset.
- Excellent computer skills including MS suite and working knowledge of dispatch software.
- Customer service oriented.
- Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound border crossing procedures.
- Strong geographical knowledge of North America.
- Knowledge of the handling and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Must be results oriented with ability to multitask and make decisions.
