The Supervisor of Logistics is responsible for leading domestic and international shipping operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role oversees day-to-day logistics execution, supervises shipping personnel, manages carrier and freight partner performance, and drives continuous improvement across transportation, customer service, and compliance processes.

 

How You’ll Succeed

  • Documentation/Compliance: prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and export filings (EEI)
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and import/export restrictions.
  • Classify goods using HS Codes and strong knowledge of international trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, Incoterms)
  • Risk management: handle delays, inspections and customs issues
  • Lead and manage daily logistics, transportation, and shipping activities for domestic and international shipments. Work with freight forwarders, customers brokers and carriers.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop logistics and shipping personnel to ensure high performance, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers, freight forwarders, internal stakeholders, and external customers to ensure smooth movement of goods.
  • Resolve shipping delays, documentation issues, customer complaints, and other logistics related challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, customs, import/export, and trade regulations, including export control requirements.
  • Track and report key logistics metrics such as on-time delivery, freight spend, premium freight, carrier performance, order cycle time, and shipping accuracy.

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or distribution operations
  • 2+ years of supervisory, team leader, or people management experience Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping processes, transportation operations, and supply chain coordination
  • Experience managing carrier relationships, freight execution, and service issue resolution
  • Knowledge of import/export processes, customs documentation, and trade compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to identify issues and drive improvements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions and with external partners
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Proficiency with ERP systems like NetSuite as well as Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
