SUMMARY                                                                                                                     

The Master Data Supervisor is a pivotal role within Westlake’s Master Data Center of Excellence organization and report to the ERP Master Data Manager. The centralized Master Data Teams (on and offshore) will report directly into this leader. In this role, you will partner closely with Plant & Corporate leaders to optimize Customer, Vendor, Supplier and Material data.  Success in this role requires a proactive approach to process improvement, strong cross-functional leadership, and the ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Optimize existing Master Data business processes to simplify and drive operational efficiency for the plants while also improving data quality outcomes.

  • Create and maintain training materials; conduct one-on-one and group training sessions to mentor staff on data management activities.

  • Take ownership of the accuracy and speed of processing for new master data creation & extension requests.

  • Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of material master data and make updates daily as required to fix errors.

  • Provide guidance to key users on the structure and inter-dependencies of master data fields.

  • Execute master data cleanup activities, including authorization cleanup in coordination with IS team (i.e. mass updates).

  • Communicate best practices in master data control, governance, and data quality standards across business areas to prevent recurrence of data issues.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or Master’s degree (M.S.) in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with ERP systems (SAP, JDE preferred).

  • Proven track record of success in cross-functional decision-making, issue resolution, and process improvement within a complex manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience analyzing and reporting data, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent project management, team leadership, and influencing skills.

  • Effective communication in matrixed work environment.

  • Experience creating training materials and delivering training to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to mentor and influence non-direct reports to improve execution of daily tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and support professional development.

  • Experience managing conflict resolution and aligning goals with organizational objectives.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS                   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
