Role Summary:
Focus to build competent engineers in both technical & professional and guide them to meet & exceed their performance metrics to support Flowserve organization. Provide guidelines to the individual contributors in GTEC & manage them effectively to achieve business targets. Have strong collaboration with global business units engineering leaders; understand their needs and expectations drive the GTEC team to deliver the same. Support GTEC leadership to drive performance culture within their team and extend the mentoring process to the associates. Manage and lead by example to inspire the team to grow in Flowserve with strong engineering & technical capabilities. Ensure to adapt to Flowserve culture and meet the requirement of leadership and functional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
Instruct, direct, motivate and monitor the performance of all team members. Supervising day-to-day activities and work of team members, job allocations based on their skill sets.
Management of all engineering and supporting activities for the global business units and make sure the technical fulfilment & engineering projects are met, effective utilization of available resources.
Encourage business unit to give feedback on submitted assignments and perform the root cause analysis for the delayed submissions & quality errors.
Review and approve the work done by the team and work closely with the engineers, guide, motivate and coach them to meet the business expectations.
Collaborate with BU’s and GTEC Engineers to improve the Customer Satisfaction and Employee Engagement.
Work closely with the management on training, development opportunities for the team members
Ensure comfort of the team members on handling the tools and software needed and maintain performance metrics (OTD, KQI, utilization, Usage, Escapes/NCR) for the respective business units/ assignments responsible as per the goals and objectives.
Work with immediate manager to perform the performance review and pay review for the team by adhering to performance culture.
Drive continuous improvement process culture across the team in collaboration with the business units.
Ensure that new Product Engineering projects are executed to achieve the cost and schedule objectives.
Build good mentoring mechanism which helps new employ‐ees to get required tools / systems on time and settle down faster.
Keep track on BU Forecasted hours and GTEC processed hours to keep the BU usage 100% if it is less then work with BU, have to improve usage.
Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Industrial experience of 10+ years, preferably in Pumps/ rotating equipment machines with good knowledge on industrial practices & standards.
Solid understanding of engineering CAD, knowledge on Designing & detailing, GD&T and other tools that are integral to the execution of engineering work.
Experience in the Industrial pump product line and knowledge on Chemical and Vacuum systems is preferred.
Hands-on experience on product development and standardization project is an advantage
Strong English oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to compose concise reports and presentations.
Knowledge of internal and international standards
