As a Materials Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse associates to ensure the efficient flow of materials from receiving through storage and distribution to the production lines. You will play a key role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, identifying process improvement opportunities, and ensuring materials are handled in accordance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
About the Job:Supervise the daily activities of a small to medium-sized materials team, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and material delivery to production.
Coordinate work schedules, staffing needs, and training plans to maximize team productivity and performance.
Monitor team productivity, provide feedback, and act as a point of escalation for complex or urgent concerns.
Ensure timely material availability to production lines in alignment with planning and procurement.
Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Production, and Planning to support uninterrupted material flow.
Inspect and ensure proper functioning of material handling equipment and report maintenance needs.
Support inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate degree, technical/trade school diploma, or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Five to seven years of experience in warehouse or materials operations, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
Experience in global manufacturing environments preferred.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and inventory management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
High attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
