Job Duties/Responsibilities
· Supervise accounting functions and prepare reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results.
· Manage and coordinate the full-cycle month-end close process for assigned business units, including manufacturing and distribution operations.
· Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
· Support annual audits, internal audits, and other compliance requirements.
· Maintain and analyze standard costs, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, and cost allocations.
· Support and administer Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting for long-term projects and contracts.
· Review project estimates, revenue recognition calculations, and cost-to-complete analyses.
· Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy of manufacturing accounting processes.
· Perform monthly forecasting and financial analysis for the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
· Conduct proactive variance analysis and communicate financial risks, opportunities, and recommendations to operations management.
· Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and operational leaders to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
· Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and management reporting tools.
· Administer approved accounting practices to ensure financial and operating reports accurately reflect business performance.
· Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to accounting staff and cross-functional teams.
· Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting efficiency.
· Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 5–7 years of accounting experience with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
· Experience with Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting, cost accounting, and/or manufacturing accounting.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
· Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution operations.
Skills/Knowledge
· CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
· Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
· Prior experience supervising or leading accounting teams.
· Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
· Experience with both manufacturing accounting and general ledger accounting.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
· Experience leading and developing mid-sized teams or cross-functional groups.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
· Strong systems experience, including:
o Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
o Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
o Power BI
o OneStream
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
· Strong customer service mindset and commitment to supporting internal stakeholders.
