JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox & Friends is looking for a dynamic Supervising Writer. As a Supervising Writer, you will never get beat on a story, have an eye for catchy stories, and have a passion for current events. You will supervise a team of Writers and collaborate with Executive and Senior Producers to craft the tone of a fast-paced show. The Supervising Writer will assign stories to writers and manage the gathering of all video and sound bites, as well as fact-check stories and research news topics. The Supervising Writer will also remain a key player during breaking news, leading the team, and executing coverage that sets the tone for the entire channel in the morning.

• Manage a team of writers

• Oversee all content and elements for daily news stories

• Communicate critical story information with writers, producers, and managers

• Write attention-grabbing teasers

• Be a true leader among a team of talented writers

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 4+ years of live national or local major market experience

• Demonstrate ability to write creative/edgy stories and teasers

• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and intense atmosphere

• Ability to multitask on tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to manage a team during breaking news with clear instructions and communication

• Ability to identify catchy stories that people discuss throughout the day

• Willingness to work overnight and weekends

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

• INews experience is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $95,000.00-107,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
