ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
We offer paid, full-time summer internships for many majors, with fulfilling work and opportunities to grow. To help launch your career, we provide dedicated staff mentors. You’ll also learn from senior leaders and industry experts. As part of the Federal Reserve System, you’ll be connected to a professional network that spans the nation. You will begin in early June 2026 and will be based in the Dallas office.

ABOUT YOUR TEAM:
The Industry Outreach team belongs to the Community Engagement and Development (CED) Department and serves as a key connection between the Dallas Fed and financial institutions across the Eleventh District. The team builds and maintains relationships with community and regional banks, gathers timely anecdotal information, monitors emerging issues, and provides clear, accurate insights to internal partners. The intern will work closely with team leadership and contribute to insight gathering, research, and the preparation of materials used for engagements with financial institutions and internal stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Industry Outreach Intern will support the work of the Industry Outreach team as it builds relationships with financial institutions, industry professionals, and other external stakeholders across the Eleventh District. This role provides hands-on experience in research, outreach, event preparation, and insight gathering. The intern will assist with developing materials used by the Dallas Fed to understand emerging issues affecting banks, fintech firms, and industry leaders.
This internship offers exposure to economic and industry topics, strategic outreach efforts, and internal collaboration across multiple business areas. The intern will work closely with senior advisors, analysts, and regional executives.
Assist in producing briefing materials, summaries, memos, and presentations on topics affecting financial institutions, including regulatory developments, economic issues, and trends in the payments system.
Support the development of stakeholder engagement materials, including background research on banks, fintech firms, government officials, and community organizations.
Help prepare for outreach meetings, roundtables, and industry programs by drafting participant bios, compiling pre-meeting packets, and taking high-quality notes during discussions.
Conduct research on community banking and broader economic issues relevant to the Eleventh District.
Participate in internal meetings with analysts, economists, and outreach staff to understand data needs and the insight-gathering process.
Assist in tracking themes and insights gathered from outreach conversations and help maintain internal repositories.
Support ongoing projects, event coordination, and district initiatives as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Undergraduate or graduate coursework focusing on economics, business, public policy, or a related field
Strong verbal and written writing skills
General understanding of economics

WORK HOURS:
