The Role
Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We are seeking a highly motivated engineering intern to support the development, testing, and validation of advanced electrical and electromechanical systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on candidate interested in bridging software, hardware, and real-world lab experimentation. You will work closely with experienced engineers on high-performance systems involving power electronics, control, and instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test scripts and automation tools using Python and/or C
- Assist in hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of electrical systems
- Operate and configure lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.)
- Support data acquisition, analysis, and visualization
- Participate in prototype assembly, wiring, and bench testing, as well as contribute to troubleshooting of electrical, firmware, or system-level issues
- Document test procedures, results, and engineering findings
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Basic proficiency in Python and/or C programming
- Familiarity with analog/digital circuits, microcontrollers/embedded systems, and serial communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C)
- Comfortable working in a lab environment using tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and DAQ systems
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to read schematics and debug circuits; exposure to power electronics or control systems is a plus

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:
-Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
