Your team
Treasury Hong Kong is part of Treasury Asia and manages the balance sheet of Bank Julius Baer, Hong Kong Branch. Treasury is responsible for Liquidity Management and the Loans and Deposit product offered by the Branch. The successful applicant will be placed within the Treasury Hong Kong Team to assist with any Treasury related functions. Duties would include improving of systems and processes, documentation and building of spreadsheets. The successful applicant will learn about Balance Sheet Management, basics of traded market instruments such as Fixed Income and FX, as well as Liquidity Management.YOUR CHALLENGE
What to work on
Participate in local projects to support branch wide initiatives
Administrative responsibility to ensure smooth functioning of the desk such as timely approval of loans and deposit orders, loading of rates
Analyse, improve and automate Treasury processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency
Work closely with stakeholders like Finance, IT and Operations to identify, resolve outstanding bugs or defects
Documentation of Treasury requirements, gaps, and specifications to technology department
Produce regular status report and metrics on projects progress
What to learn
Liquidity Management, adhering to HKMA (and MAS) and internal requirements
Managing the HK balance sheet to optimise profitability through various market tools such as interbank borrowing and lending/FX Swaps/Repo/Fixed Income
Actively monitoring and source for HQLA to satisfy local regulatory requirements
Provide research, share market knowledge and ideas for Treasury
Provide end of day summary to Treasury team heads and members to ensure all regulatory ratios and risk limits are being adhered to
Bachelor student from 2nd year onwards or enrolled Master student in the field(s) of Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) or a related field
Passion for wealth management and a desire to create value beyond wealth
A global mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong appetite for learning
Fluency in English, with additional languages being a plus
Registered in the country of application with a valid work permit (Hong Kong)
