Leidos’ Defense Systems Sector’s Digital Engineering team is a service-oriented organization that works with programs and project teams to systematically improve efficiency, eliminate and prevent pain points, and bring modern digital practices to the hands of the tactical day-to-day employee. We are responsible for architecting and implementing large-scale Digital solutions, independent reviews of digital practices, and support of teams implementing new practices. The team plays a pivotal role in fostering teamwork, creativity, and technological advancement in digital engineering initiatives, driving competitive advantage and value creation for the organization. The qualified candidate will be constantly learning new skills throughout their employment and their deliverables will be included in the team’s offerings and used by Leidosians across the globe. Leidos is seeking an energetic, motivated, self-starter for this technically sophisticated and challenging engineering work. This internship will start Summer of 2025 with a minimum of 10-week commitment.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist the Digital Engineers in the design, development, and integration of digital engineering tools and systems.

Support the development and maintenance of digital threads and digital twins, helping link analytical and engineering tools.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including systems engineers, software developers, and solution architects to ensure project goals align.

Contribute to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of systems throughout their lifecycle, supporting design, testing, and validation efforts on multiple high-priority programs.

Aid, lead and/or own process improvement initiatives by researching emerging digital engineering technologies and providing recommendations for integration.

Document technical solutions, workflows, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.

Participate in meetings, prepare reports, and present technical insights to team members and stakeholders.

Assist with troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimization of digital engineering systems.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices in software design and architecture.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Must be pursuing an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical degree, and have at least a 3.2 GPA

Must be available to work at least 10 weeks full time as an intern

U.S. Citizenship required and must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance.

Candidates will be working in a professional environment and contributing to solutions that will be used throughout the company. Therefore, candidates must be dedicated to producing quality work results and must be extremely attentive to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience on a model-driven program that implemented Digital Engineering concepts.

Experience with creating technical documentation.
-
Familiar with Agile, CI/CD, Git, Gitlab, Microsoft coding tools.

Experience with software and system modeling, including MBSE tools like Cameo or similar.

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
