We are currently seeking interns to join our Future Virti Program in Kansas City for the summer of 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for hard-working team players who want to make an impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Between June and July of 2027, interns will be fully immersed into the Virtus team and culture. The full-time, paid internship offers a competitive hourly wage and will allow participants to work along-side our teams to develop skills that contribute directly to the success of the business, take on cross-functional projects, learn how Virtus is shaking up the insurance industry, and meet some really cool people in the process. From day one, you'll be given hands-on, meaningful work and the opportunity to make a difference!

What We Look For:

    • Completion of at least Junior year in an accredited college with a major in Business Administration or related field.
    • A self-starter who is excited to kick-off their career even prior to graduation - candidates will thrive on learning new ideas and concepts and growing themselves personally and professionally.
    • Natural curiosity and creative approaches to problem solving.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to adjust easily to working well with a variety of workstyles.
    • Glass half full, positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Ability to complete quality work without constant supervision.
    • Familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel) and the ability to learn new software systems.
    • Ability to work in a team environment that is constantly evolving.
    • Accountability with a drive for getting results; attitude of ownership for outcomes.
    • Someone who enjoys working in an empowered, entrepreneurial environment of innovation and creativity.

What You'll Do

  • Learn about the world of insurance through various training methods, the industry workflow, and business platforms within the organization as assigned during the internship.
  • Provide miscellaneous support to our vertical specializations and assisting with the overall production and/or servicing of agency business while being introduced to insurance operations.
  • Gain technical and competency-based skills through formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Complete special projects or assignments that assist leaders and platforms in their mission while learning about the corporate environment.
  • Develop and deliver a group presentation to the Corporate Leadership team with other interns.
  • Network with senior leaders, experienced teammates, and other interns to develop lasting professional connections.
  • Receive and provide formal and informal feedback throughout the program.
  • Pursue a path of insurance industry knowledge and professional development.
