Responsibilities may include contributing to C++ infrastructure, developing auto-execution logic, creating trading protocols, and working across firmwide trade workflows. Who are we?

At Tradeweb, we’re constantly moving forward. We were the first to electronify the bond market, and we’ve been innovating ever since. Come join our team and find out what it means to lead the way into the future of electronic trading. Collaborate with our creative thinkers who have vision and drive, and learn how you too can make an impact of your own.

What’s in it for you?

As an intern, you won’t just be along for the ride. You’ll work with our technologists and business experts to gain practical, hands-on experience that you can actually use. Our program combines traditional classroom-settings with project-based work where you can get involved with the products and services the firm is working on. Along the way, you’ll have guidance from people at all levels of the organization so you can start to build a long-lasting professional network and build relationships with the intern class through interactive outings and projects.

Who will you work for?

You will be working for one of our Technology Development teams, the U.S. Credit team, which owns all institutional buy-side credit products. The team builds and maintains a broad suite of trading protocols, all powered by a modern event-driven architecture. Additionally, the team works closely with other development teams across the firm whose systems connect to credit trading workflows.

Daily work includes contributing to the New List Infrastructure (NLI), a ground-up rewrite of our trading protocol stack built for scale, speed, and clean design (written in C++). A day in the life will likely entail a morning check in with your manager, discussing action items for the day/week, and likely working with other engineers on our 16-person engineering team. You could find yourself building auto-execution logic, developing new trading protocols from real client requests, or working through trade logic that touches systems across the firm.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with C/C++ and a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • An interest in building large-scale, real-time distributed systems.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Curiosity about how technology drives the fixed income space, logic and intentionality to the design and implementation of your code.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
