Peraton is seeking a Summer 2027 Business Analyst Intern to support the County of San Diego Contract from June 2027 to August 2027.
As Business Analyst intern students will bridge County needs and technical teams by translating business problems into clear requirements and user stories. You'll help shape how AI-assisted development projects are scoped and planned under the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC).
Peraton is the County of San Diego's IT and telecommunications partner, supporting the technology that County departments rely on to serve more than 3 million residents, from public health and social services to public safety and libraries. As a intern/co-op on the CoSD program, you'll work alongside Peraton professionals on real projects that modernize County services, including emerging work applying AI to how software is designed, built, and delivered.
Internship structure: Full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-week summer internship. Hybrid, based in San Diego, CA.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
- You are a current undergrad or graduate student and have completed progress or pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Strong written communication and ability to document processes and requirements clearly
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile concepts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience writing user stories or acceptance criteria
- Familiarity with AI-DLC, JIRA, or process-mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
- Basic SQL or data analysis skills
- Interest in public-sector technology

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
