Our paid summer internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting a powerful mission: Finding cures. Saving children. 

What You’ll Experience: 

Over 10 weeks, you’ll be immersed in ALSAC’s culture and work alongside passionate professionals. Here’s what you can expect:

Internship Details: 

  • Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026 

  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday) 

  • Pay: $18/hour 

  • Location: Headquarters Office in Memphis, TN

Qualifications: 

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college/university or May 2026 graduate    

  • Passionate about our mission  

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

 

Internship Focus:   

The Donation Experiences (DEX) team is responsible for the primary giving experience on stjude.org  focusing on full-stack development using modern technologies to deliver scalable and user-friendly solutions. Interns will contribute to projects that improve donor engagement and streamline backend processes. 

Key Projects Include: 

  • Building and enhancing donor self-service capabilities. 

  • Developing secure and responsive UI components using NextJS and other modern frontend frameworks. 

  • Creating robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot. 

  • Integrating APIs and microservices to support logged-in user features. 

Daily Tasks: 

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. 

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features. 

  • Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews. 

  • Troubleshoot bugs and optimize performance across the stack. 

Majors Preferred: Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology 

Skills Preferred: 

Frontend: NextJS, ReactJS, or similar UI technologies 

Backend: Java, Spring Boot 

Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and Agile development practices 

Strong problem-solving and communication skills
