Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Division Heads
FLSA Qualification: Non-exempt
Position Purpose: To teach, enrich, and reinforce the grade level/subject curriculum
Essential Functions:

Respond to the needs – often with little advance notice – of a classroom, a program, and a group of students missing the full-time teacher;
-
Teach the lesson plan as provided by the absent teacher, the appropriate department chair or the Division Head, allowing – when possible – the class experience to progress rather than simply providing classroom supervision;

Support all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Associates Degree or 60 college hours, required.

Experience working with youth in an educational setting, preferred.

Ability to carry out lesson plans and manage students.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.

May work at a desk and computer and stand for extended periods of time.
