St Joseph Catholic School is seeking talented individuals who desire a flexible work schedule and are available on an on-call basis as substitute teachers. This is a great opportunity to share your gifts in support of student learning in a Christ-centered environment. The substitute teacher is an individual who:
- Delivers pre-planned lessons and instructional activities left by the regular teacher
- Manages classroom behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures
- Provides a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages learning and respect
- Takes attendance and maintains accurate records of student activity
- Supervises students during classroom transitions, lunch and recess
- Adapts to different classrooms, grade levels and subject areas as needed
Candidates will meet the following minimum requirements:
- Obtain a Washington State Substitute Teacher Certificate
- Have experience with school aged children
- Demonstrate rapport with students and teachers
- Complete a background check and Safe Environment training per archdiocesan policy
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
