The Role / Position Overview
FT Specialist is a profitable and growing business unit within the iconic Financial Times Group. We deliver world class journalism, events, and marketing services for select industries through an extensive suite of products. Come join a growing team responsible for selling access to our unparalleled content. In this role, you regularly interface with C-suite decision makers across various financial sectors, negotiate prices and access levels, and should close 30 to 40 deals per year.
Key Responsibilities
As a Subscription Sales Executive, you will have monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals to achieve. You'll have responsibility for bringing in new business through outbound prospecting, inbound leads from marketing, and leads obtained at conferences or other types of networking events (some travel is required for conferences).
You will expertly perform sales activities, including well-crafted emails, effective telephone calls, video meetings, presentations, and prospecting at industry conferences. Success comes from building relationships with prospects, understanding their needs, and relaying the value of our products. You will also be responsible for presenting market feedback to management.
This position is based in our New York City office two days a week (minimum), while the rest of the week can be from home.
Required Skills / Experience
- Minimum of 3-year successful track record in B2B sales
- Experience prospecting at conferences and trade shows
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- High comfort level selling to senior executives
- Ability to close deals by telephone, email and in person
- Strong and consistent follow-up skills
- Ability to learn and properly use CRM and prospecting tools, such as salesforce.com and
- LinkedIn Navigator
- Ability to utilize marketing data effectively in the sales process
- Positive, outgoing personality
- Experience selling content licenses (aka group subscriptions) is a plus
- Experience selling within the Insurance industry is a plus.

Further Information
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $62,400 to $100,000 plus commission, depending on qualifications. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
