Job Description

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate industrial automation systems that enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, components, and platforms for automation projects.
  • Develop, program, and configure automation software for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other control devices. Ensure the seamless integration of automation solutions with existing systems.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting support for automation systems to identify and resolve issues promptly. Develop preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Lead or contribute to automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. Collaborate with project teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality automation solutions.
  • Stay updated on the most recent developments in industrial automation technologies and trends. Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application in existing or future projects.
  • Conduct training sessions for operational staff on the use and maintenance of automation systems. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including manuals and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that automation systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Participate in audits and inspections related to industrial automation systems.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards. Participate in root cause analysis for product defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze data from the various monitoring and manufacturing execution systems (EIT, Oracle, MEX, BLM, Shotscope, etc.) and execute action items based on the gathered information and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, analyzes downtime, and creates work orders and work requests in MEX (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ensures cleanliness and tidiness in the work area and organizes machine parts and components appropriately. Conducts regular audits of machine tools and measuring equipment.
  • Assists the Maintenance team with maintenance activities and major overhauls and installations.
  • Supports organizational philanthropic, quality, and environmental initiatives throughout the site.
  • Implement appropriate Industrial Automation Preventative Maintenance programs and identify critical spares for inventory.
  • Communicating with supplier on matters related to various subject matters.
  • Analyze data on subject matter and implement plans to improve performance and availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the field of industrial automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Profibus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management skills to oversee automation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Understanding of industry regulations and standards related to industrial automation.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies and stay informed about industry developments.
